Late Summer arrival

Late summer, hot and dry, everything gone to seed and yellow leaves.
Red maples and brown bracken.
There's a knocking raven in the sycamore.

Time flies like an arrow but it's still.
Still painting, still messing around the river, still hanging around the place.

MandRand band is still playing matinees and nightly, little bit of rock, little bit of roll
and lots of still sunshine.

Tomatoes

Waterfall

Rocks and old busted concrete.
12 ft.
Wild roaring white water during storms and a nice little
waterfall all winter and spring until June.
It's a replacement for a broken culvert and flume to avoid
erosion. When the vines and flowers cover the edges it will be
a finished project.

Rays of Hope and Warmth

In late January it rained a lot.
The water came up to the tipi.

The living willow Tipi has lost it's leaves for the winter.

Tsunami Santa Cruz

Cascadia Fault, Hosgri Fault, and the whole ring of fire.
These things have been here before.
Recent findings concluded the Cascadia subduction zone was more hazardous than previously suggested.  Some geologists are predicting a 10 to 14% probability that the Cascadia Subduction will rupture in the next 50 years, producing an event of magnitude 9 or higher. The tsunami produced may reach heights of approximately 100 ft moving at 500 miles per hour.
The south end of the Cascadia is about 500 miles north of here so that's about an hour away.
My house is 200ft from  the cliff, a mere 40t above the ocean.
Here is a link to a December 2009 article in Scientific American about
The map that is provided in this article seems optimistic about
what gets flooded.  Man, I hope not though.  A tsunami type wave or
surge is a lot different than what breaks at the Lane.  45 to 100ft
would certainly go up and over the cliff with unimaginable power
and volume of water.
